Hummus with pine nuts and olives

Hummus is one of my favorite snacks and also one of the easiest things to make. It’s more cost efficient to make at home, the prep work is minimal, and it also tastes significantly better. An ingredient in the recipe some people may not be familiar with is tahini. Thanini is a seed butter made from sesame seeds. Similar to natural peanut butter it needs to be mixed well before using. It can be bought at most grcoery stores in the ethnic aisles or it can be purchased on amazon.


28 ounce can chickpeas
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup tahini
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
3 tbsp water
Pine nuts
Extra virgin olive oil
Kalamata olives, chopped
  1. Place all ingredients in the food processor, blend for 60 seconds
  2. Using the rubber spatula scrape down the sides of the food processor to ensure all of the ingredients are blended
  3. Blend mixture for 2 minutes to achieve a smooth consistency
