Triple ranch fried pickles

It doesn’t get more Midwest than ranch dressing. When I saw the ranch pickle craze on Tiktok I knew I had to give it a try. They turned out to be pretty good, but I wanted to do more with it because I’m a ranch lover. How could a ranch pickle become even ranchier? Cover the pickle in cool ranch Doritos then dip them in ranch. That’s how the triple ranch fried pickle was born. Lets check out the recipe.

1 jar Klausen whole pickles, cut into 1/2 inch coins
1 packet Hidden valley ranch dip seasoning packet
1/2 bag Cool ranch doritos, crushed to resemble bread crumbs
1 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp water
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup mayo
1/2 garlic clove, grated
1 tsp granulated onion
1 tbsp dill, roughly chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Canola oil for frying

  1. Start by pouring the pickle juice in a large mixing bowl then whisk the contents of the ranch packet until dissolved, add the pickles to marinate overnight
  2. Remove the pickles from the liquid
  3. Whisk the eggs and water until smooth to create egg wash
  4. Coat the pickles with the flour, shake off the excess flour then transfer to the bowl of egg wash, coat the pickles with the Doritos a few at a time
  5. Fry the pickles in 350 degree oil for about 2 minutes
  6. Scoop out with a metal slotted spoon, place on a wire rack to let the excess oil drip off
  7. While the pickles are cooling slightly whisk together the buttermilk, mayo, garlic, granulated onion, dill, salt, and pepper
  8. Dip the pickles in the ranch, enjoy!
